An upgraded reproduction fuel level sender for the 1978–1988 Porsche 928 — a direct replacement for OEM part number 928.641.030.01 (also written 92864103001).
The original 928 sender used a fine Nichrome resistance wire that is famously fragile: the ground connection at the centre post corrodes, the wire breaks, and the gauge starts reading erratically or sticks. Rebuilds are possible but only when the corrosion has not yet destroyed the ground point.
This reproduction is built to the original mounting geometry and ohm characteristic (approximately 5–8 Ω full / approximately 80 Ω empty), so it pairs directly with the factory gauge cluster without recalibration. PTFE-insulated wiring, Viton sealing, and modern injection-molded plastic components replace the failure-prone original materials.
